इम्फाल। मणिपुर में सुरक्षा बलों ने सोमवार को एक बड़े ऑपरेशन में कम से कम 11 हथियारबंद कुकी उग्रवादियों को मार गिराया। ये उग्रवादी जिरीबाम जिले के बोरोबाकेरा में एक पुलिस स्टेशन पर हमला करने आए थे। कुकी उग्रवादियों ने सोमवार दोपहर करीब साढ़े तीन बजे जिरीबाम के बोरोबाकेरा में सीआरपीएफ कैंप पर हमला किया। सीआरपीएफ ने भी जवाबी कार्रवाई की और मुठभेड़ में ये उग्रवादी मारे गए। इस घटना में सीआरपीएफ का एक जवान भी गंभीर रूप से घायल हुआ है। मारे गए कुकी उग्रवादियों के पास से 4 एसएलआर, 3 एके-47, एक आरपीजी और अन्य हथियार और गोला-बारूद बरामद किए गए हैं।

मैतेई समुदाय के घरों को आग लगाई

बोरोबेकरा पुलिस स्टेशन के अधिकार क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत जकुरादोर में मैतेई समुदाय के तीन से चार खाली घरों को अज्ञात बदमाशों ने आग लगा दी जिनके कुकी-हमार समुदाय से होने का संदेह है। जकुरादोर, करोंग बोरोबेकरा पुलिस स्टेशन से लगभग 100 मीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। बोरोबेकरा पुलिस स्टेशन पर सीआरपीएफ, असम राइफल्स और मणिपुर पुलिस के जवानों को तैनात किया गया है जहां एक राहत शिविर भी स्थित है। सूत्रों ने बताया कि हमलावर शिविर को भी निशाना बनाने की योजना बना रहे थे।

पुलिस स्टेशन के गेट के पास घरों में खुलेआम आग लगाने वाले हथियारबंद कुकी उग्रवादियों की मौजूदगी के बावजूद सुरक्षा बलों ने कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं की। लेकिन, जब हथियारबंद उग्रवादियों ने पुलिस स्टेशन पर हमला किया तो सुरक्षा बलों ने जवाबी कार्रवाई की जिसमें कम से कम 11 उग्रवादी मारे गए। हाल के महीनों में जिरीबाम में बोरोबेकरा पुलिस स्टेशन को कई बार निशाना बनाया गया है।

इससे पहले कुकी उग्रवादियों ने रविवार को इंफाल ईस्ट जिले के मैतेई बहुल गांव सनसाबी पर हमला किया था। पुलिस के अनुसार, हथियारबंद उग्रवादियों ने पहले धान की कटाई कर रहे मैतेई किसानों पर गोलीबारी की और फिर बम फेंके। हमले की सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस और बीएसएफ की टीमें मौके पर पहुंच गईं।

उग्रवादियों और बीएसएफ जवानों के बीच मुठभेड़ शुरू हो गई जो करीब 40 मिनट तक चली। उग्रवादियों की फायरिंग में बीएसएफ की 4 महार रेजिमेंट का एक जवान घायल हो गया। पिछले चार दिनों में मणिपुर में यह 8वां हमला है। इन हमलों में बीएसएफ और सीआरपीएफ के एक-एक जवान के घायल होने के अलावा 2 महिलाओं और 1 डॉक्टर की मौत हो गई है।

डेढ़ साल से सुलग रहा है मणिपुर

मणिपुर में हिंसा की शुरुआत पिछले साल 3 मई से तब हुई, जब मणिपुर हाई कोर्ट के एक आदेश के खिलाफ कुकी-जो जनजाति समुदाय के प्रदर्शन के दौरान आगजनी और तोड़फोड़ गई। दरअसल, मैतेई समुदाय ने इस मांग के साथ मणिपुर हाई कोर्ट में एक याचिका दाखिल की थी कि उन्हें जनजाति का दर्जा दिया जाए। मैतेई समुदाय की दलील थी कि 1949 में मणिपुर का भारत में विलय हुआ था। उससे पहले उन्हें जनजाति का दर्जा मिला हुआ था। मणिपुर हाई कोई ने याचिका पर सुनवाई पूरी होने के बाद राज्य सरकार से सिफारिश की कि मैतेई समुदाय को अनुसूचित जनजाति में शामिल करने पर विचार किया जाए।
