मुम्बई/नयी दिल्ली। बॉलीवुड स्टार सलमान खान के घर पर बीते 14 अप्रैल को हुई फायरिंग के मामले के एक आरोपी अनुज थापन (Anuj Thapan) ने बुधवार को मुम्बई क्राइम ब्रांच के लॉकअप में खुदकुशी कर ली। मुंबई पुलिस के अनुसार, उसको गंभीर हालत में नजदीकी अस्पताल ले जाया गया जहां डॉक्टरों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया। उस पर सलमान खान के घर पर फायरिंग करने वाले दोनों शूटरों विक्की गुप्ता और सागर पाल को हथियार मुहैया कराने का आरोप था। उसने खुदकुशी क्यों की, इस बारे में अभी कोई पुख्ता जानकारी नहीं मिल पाई है। (The accused in the attack on Salman Khan’s house committed suicide in the lockup)
अनुज थापन और उसके एक साथी सोनू बिश्नोई को करीब पांच दिन पहले पंजाब के अबोहर से गिरफ्तार किया गया था। पुलिस को इन दोनों के बारे में अपने खुफिया सूत्रों से पता चला, जिसके बाद इन दोनों को गिरफ्तार कर मुंबई लाया गया। मुंबई क्राइम ब्रांच का कहना है कि अनुज थापन ही वह व्यक्ति शख्स था जिसने अनमोल बिश्नोई के कहने पर विक्की गुप्ता और सागर पाल तक पिस्टल पहुंचाई थी। हालांकि, अनुज के वकील ने हथियार सप्लाई करने के आरोपों को झूठा बताया था।
अनुज थापन के वकील ने अपनी दलील में कहा था कि उसके क्लाइंट का सलमान खान के घर पर फायरिंग करने वाले शूटर्स से कोई कनेक्शन नहीं है। वहीं, पुलिस के मुताबिक अनुज थापन के खिलाफ पहले से हत्या की कोशिश और जबरन वसूली सहित संगीन धाराओं में तीन मुकदमे दर्ज हैं।
